About Melissa . . .
I’m originally from a small island country called Malta, but I grew up in Piscataway, New Jersey.
After graduating from Rider University, I moved to California with my boyfriend to pursue a career in TV and film production. While the pandemic briefly put things on pause, I found my way back into production — and with it, a deeper appreciation for storytelling through video.
During my time in California, I had the incredible opportunity to work on the backlots of Universal Studios, Warner Brothers, and Paramount Pictures. Being surrounded by the “movie magic” I’d always admired taught me so much about the power of visual storytelling and sharpened my production skills in a big way.
When my boyfriend — now fiancé — decided to move back to the East Coast, I continued working on productions in the New York and New Jersey area. Around that time, I continued collaborating with Justin and Steph from ToneMedia, two incredibly talented New Jersey wedding videographers. Through the years with them, I started as an editor on their team and eventually became a second and third shooter for weddings!
Though I had always loved filming my own family’s events, working with Justin and Steph showed me just how fulfilling it is to document other people’s most meaningful moments. And how much I loved being there for other people's special day!
With their mentorship and support, I launched MelChi Media to continue doing what I love: capturing love stories, celebrations, and real-life moments with heart and intention. While I still collaborate with ToneMedia and take on production work, MelChi Media is where I get to create something truly personal — lasting memories for people like you.
Meet My Second Shooter — and Fiancé Patrick . . .
when I need a second videographer, Patrick is my go-to guy!
We first met at Rider University, both pursuing degrees in Digital Media. What started as a friendship soon blossomed into a relationship — and eventually, a creative partnership.
We’ve been together since 2019, and Patrick has always been my biggest supporter!
He’s encouraged me to chase my passion in every direction, and now we’re building something meaningful together — both personally and professionally. When we work weddings or events as a team, we bring not only our shared experience in production, but also a deep understanding of how to capture moments that matter.
Our dream? To eventually become a husband-and-wife duo, filming love stories and life’s biggest celebrations side by side.
